UMKC Free Dental Screening

We are excited to announce that in cooperation with UMKC School of Dentistry, Midwest Music Foundation is offering free dental screenings at UMKC Dental School for musicians and music industry workers.
If additional dental work is needed, Dental Grants from Midwest Music Foundation will be available to help offset the cost of treatment.

Free Covid-19 Tests

The Midwest Music Foundation is providing FREE COVID-19 tests to musicians and music industry personnel without access to affordable testing.

If you think you may have been exposed to COVID-19, have symptoms or need testing for a work opportunity, please fill out this form to request a test. Contact rhonda@midwestmusicfound.org with any questions.

Tests will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. This clinic service is provided by Jackson County Outside Agency Funding.

MMF does not endorse or make any statements on the accuracy of these tests.

Free Flu Shot Vouchers

Midwest Music Foundation is providing free flu shots to musicians and music industry personnel. These will be provided through a voucher that can be redeemed at any CVS Pharmacy location or CVS Pharmacy at Target. Cannot be used at MinuteClinic®. The voucher is good through 3/30/2024.

Abby’s Fund for Musicians’ Health Care
Grant Application provides grants to musicians faced with urgent health care expenses.

Abby’s Fund for Musicians’ Health Care provides grants to musicians faced with urgent health care expenses. This application will determine your eligibility, and will be reviewed by the Midwest Music Foundation’s Grant Committee. Please email the Executive Director to ensure we received your application.

Sensitive information may be kept on file and used for the purpose of determining eligibility but not on this website. Applicants who are not performers but engage in other aspects of the musical arts community (such as sound engineers and venue employees) are also encouraged to apply. Other resources may be available to those who do not meet all criteria. Funds are dispensed on a case-by-case basis.

Eligibility

  • Must reside in Kansas City or surrounding areas.
  • Must provide three references who will be contacted.
  • Must currently be employed or have been employed in the last 12 months as a musician.
  • Must be able to provide documentation upon request.

RockDocs partnership

RockDocs are Physicians and Health Care Professionals from the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. They offer free health screening services for musicians at local events, Affordable Care Act and health insurance information, medical consultations, wellness programs, and opportunities to discuss health conditions and concerns and arrange follow up.
